This kit definitely contains dangerous things. Our x-series implants are sealed in biocompatible glass, and while that glass has been put through a battery of tests, it has not been certified by any government regulatory agency for implantation or use inside the human body. Your personal decision to purchase and ultimately the safe use of these devices is strictly your responsibility and at your own risk. These devices are MR conditional.

Not all glass is the same. Grades run from genuinely bad to biomedical, and the difference is not visible from the outside. We have tested animal implants from turnkey manufacturers where something was visibly leaching out of the capsule — fluid that should have been clear had gone blue-green. We were never able to identify the contaminant. This is why we control our materials, keep a close relationship with our contracted factories, and test finished product rather than trusting a datasheet.

Glass is strong under pressure, and weak under impact. Our testing puts the x-series through a vacuum of 0.42 mBar — lower than you would meet in low earth orbit — and up to roughly 1500 PSI in a pressure vessel, with no damage either way. It survives immersion in liquid nitrogen still readable, and it survives an electromagnetic pulse strong enough to launch it off the test platform. What that testing does not cover is a crushing or shearing blow to the exact spot where the implant sits. Pressure is distributed; a hammer, a heavy fall onto a hard edge, or a firm grip on a tool handle is not.

Placement is how you manage that risk. Do not install under a gripping surface, and do not install atop or parallel to a joint. The webbing between thumb and forefinger is the standard x-series location precisely because it is padded, mobile, and rarely takes a direct crushing load. Always defer to your professional installation partner on placement and installation procedure.

If it does break. We test the sterility of the interior airspace, not just the outside of the capsule, specifically so that a break inside the body is not also a contamination event. A broken implant should be assessed by a medical professional or your installation partner, but the glass itself is not carrying anything into you that we have not accounted for. Any random scratch introduces considerably more infection risk.
