This is another great innovation from Midwest Gadgets that helps enable folks to get a wider view of an NFC reader’s field.

How does it compare to similar products?

• xFD is a dual-frequency field detector that excels at indicating whether a solenoid-style antenna (like those in our x-Series implants) will couple with a given reader. Examining a reader with this is pretty time-consuming, but it will reveal exactly where the antenna’s windings are. It’s also dual-frequency (13.56MHz aka NFC and 125kHz aka LF RFID).
• RFID Diagnostic Card is another dual-frequency tool that allows you to quickly determine whether a given contactless reader puts out a 13.56Mhz, 125kHz field, or both. It doesn’t help you visualize a field much.
